RateThePick publishes product research and buying guides to help shoppers make clearer decisions. This policy explains how our content is produced, what we will and will not claim, and how we keep pages accurate.
Independence
- Our scores and recommendations are decided by our editorial process, not by brands, retailers, or affiliate programs.
- We do not accept payment, free products, or other compensation in exchange for coverage, rankings, or positive reviews.
- Affiliate links never change a product's score. A product can be linked and still receive a low score or a clear warning about who should skip it.
How We Research and Score Products
Our reviews are research-based. For each category we define the buying factors that matter most, then evaluate products against them using:
- Manufacturer specifications, manuals, and warranty terms.
- Recurring patterns in verified buyer feedback, both positive and negative.
- Side-by-side comparisons with alternatives at similar price points.
- Category-specific criteria such as ease of use, build quality, maintenance, and value.
We do not claim hands-on testing unless a page explicitly says a product was tested. Full details are in Our Testing Process.
Accuracy, Updates, and Corrections
- Each review shows the date it was last updated.
- We revisit pages when products are discontinued or replaced, when buyer feedback shifts, or when better alternatives appear.
- If you find an error, email contact@ratethepick.com with the page URL and the detail that needs review. We prioritize corrections that affect purchase decisions.
